We are delighted to announce our 2021-22 curriculum leadership training programme for senior leaders involved in curriculum, aspiring curriculum leaders and those leading curriculum decisions. If this isn’t right for you, please forward to relevant colleagues ~ thank you.
We are offering three modules – each running once in Autumn and once in Spring – which can be booked all together (3 modules for the full course) or individually to suit your needs. If you book all three modules, the third one is free!

SMARTcurriculum: Curriculum Efficiency & Accountability
Does your curriculum model fit the number of learners in your school?
Don’t let a timetable alone drive your curriculum decisions. This course is led by Chris Jones, nationally recognised expert on curriculum, timetabling and ICFP. In the programme, we will cover the principles of designing your curriculum model for best effect and most efficient teaching and learning.
The course will consider the metrics of efficiency and how they can be achieved at the design stage of curriculum planning.
We will explore curriculum efficiency and the principles of ICFP (Integrated Curriculum Finance Planning). This course module will look at the application of the principles and how SMARTcurriculum methodology delivers the ICFP principles. You do not need to be a SMARTcurriculum App user to benefit from this course.

SMARTcurriculum®: Curriculum System Design
Don’t let a timetable alone drive your curriculum decisions. This course is led by Chris Jones, nationally recognised expert on curriculum, timetabling and ICFP. In the programme, we will cover the principles of designing your curriculum model for best effect and most efficient teaching and learning.
This course, run over one morning, includes:
- Exploring 12 principles of curriculum design at the strategic level
- Exploring the system factors that make a difference
- Relating current research understanding to decision making

SMARTcurriculum: Curriculum Leadership
Understand the principles of designing your curriculum model for best effect and most efficient teaching and learning.
This course will cover creating and proving the feasibility of your curriculum model design, including:
- Exploring a range of modelling techniques for different contexts
- Exploring the impact of population design and how this effects delivery
- Considering sector analysis
- Considering choice thresholds and the style of delivery
